Homewood zoning board rejects plan for multifamily development


A growing Birmingham suburb has sent a developer back to the drawing board.

Homewood’s board of zoning adjustments denied Eyester Legg Development’s third version of its plans for a multifamily development, reports the Homewood Star.

The firm’s plans are for seven townhomes at 3019 and 3021 Firefighter Lane that would be 25 feet wide and 100 feet deep with two-car garages. However, this would encroach on the city’s required property line setbacks and exceed the maximum allowed lot coverage…
