Over the years Social Capital founder Chamath Palihapitiya often used his shareholders letter to compare his company’s early year returns to those of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway.
In his 2021 letter Palihapitiya wrote "while Berkshire (Hathaway) has been, and will always be, a symbol of a company that has inspired my personal and professional identity, Social Capital has now sufficiently evolved to a place where it has its own clear perimeter and goals."
