Food52 kitchen content and retail site gets $83M in funding


A kitchen and home brand founded by two former food writers has secured an $83 million majority investment from TCG Capital Management, an affiliate of The Chernin Group, LLC, to finance its continued growth and expansion.

The content and shopping site plans to use the investment to develop offline retail, including opening a brick-and-mortar flagship, expand its in-house product line Five Two and fuel business development and strategic partnerships, the company said.
