How this working mom handled her son’s ‘I’ll get a wife’ remark


As we shift out of March and Women’s History Month where we recognize how far women have come, it’s time now to move our eye to the present day and future work still needed to be done to overcome outmoded gender identity roles.

After dinner, my sons were helping clean up the kitchen.

I had my oldest son, Ryan – age 13, at the kitchen sink hand-washing a few things, including the frying pan which had some fried food parts stuck on the bottom.
