Jackson County counteroffers Royals: $300M in public financing, no debt for new ballpark

Jackson County submitted a counteroffer to the Kansas City Royals' desired sales tax extension for a new ballpark in the East Village, with at least one material difference from the team's current arrangement at Truman Sports Complex. One significant missing piece: the source for said funding. The submission represents the latest movement in negotiations as the team looks to pose a sales tax ballot question to county voters in April.
