Judge signs off on Bernsteins’ offer for Beauty Brands


Bob Bernstein says he's ready to pop some bubbly.

The founder of Beauty Brands, along with his son, former company CEO David Bernstein, won court approval Tuesday to buy the Kansas City-based beauty and salon retailer, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January. The transaction is expected to close Tuesday, Bob Bernstein told the Kansas City Business Journal.

The Bernsteins will take over the leases at 23 stores, including all 12 in the Kansas City area, and the Lenexa distribution center.…
