Kansas City signs off on rezoning plan to remake Satchel Paige’s former home into a museum


The former Kansas City home of baseball legend Leroy “Satchel” Paige will be pitched a changeup, thanks to a rezoning effort approved by the Kansas City Council last week.

The home, located near 28th Street and Prospect Avenue, will become a museum and hub for the Santa Fe neighborhood. Negro Leagues and Major League Baseball player Paige lived there from 1950 until his death in 1982. It has been vacant since 2004, KCUR reports.
