Construction on KB Home's massive housing development in San Jose's master-planned Communication Hill area has been shut down for weeks due to concerns about elevated asbestos levels at the site, local CBS affiliate KPIX 5 reports.

“Some of the readings were above the air district guidelines for airborne asbestos,” Matt Loesch of the San Jose Public Works department told the station. “So within a few days we thought it best to shut down the jobsite so we can perform some dirt mitigation.”
