Did you know that only one ferret is licensed in Kansas City?

That's what the most recent data provided to the Kansas City Business Journal revealed. Perhaps less surprising is that in Kansas City and Overland Park combined, 20,738 dogs and 3,386 cats were licensed.

According to the city of Kansas City website, residents are "required by Chapter 14 of the Code of Ordinances to license their cats, dogs and ferrets." Analysis by the Business Journal found that pet licenses have been on the decline…
