Mayor, council members release dueling proposals on rent stabilization


Ahead of a much anticipated city council hearing on rent stabilization, members of the Sacramento City Council released differing proposals for addressing the issue.

Three city councilmembers introduced a package including 18-month leases and mediation between renters and landlords, while Mayor Darrell Steinberg called for capping rent increases to 5 percent annually for three years.
