McDonald’s franchisees plan independent group to push for change


McDonald’s franchisees have agreed to form an independent operators’ association in an effort to transform the company’s weak sales.

One-quarter of the company’s franchisees, about 400, met in Tampa, Florida to pledge to form the association, according to The Wall Street Journal.

While no formal vote was taken or scheduled, the group distributed pledge cards requesting that franchisees give $200 toward the association.
