Milwaukee County weighing discrimination protection order for Section 8 renters


The Milwaukee County Board will decide next week whether to vote in a policy forbidding apartment building owners and property managers from turning away renters based solely on them receiving rental or housing assistance from the U.S. government.

County Supervisor Marina Dimitrijevic, who represents the county's 4th District, has proposed adding the language "receipt of rental or housing assistance" to Milwaukee County's Fair Housing ordinance, making the language part of prohibited forms of discrimination…
