Missouri’s last abortion clinic could shut down this week


Planned Parenthood’s St. Louis facility, the last abortion clinic in the state, could close this week.

Planned Parenthood officials said the facility’s current license expires Friday, and if it is not renewed, Missouri would be the first state without a functioning abortion clinic since 1973, according to CBS News. Officials are planning to sue the state in order to stay open.

The organization would be able to provide non-abortion health services for women in Missouri even without the license.
