An increasing number of American households are consuming both dairy and non-dairy products, pointing to the growing popularity of an omnivorous diet.
According to a recent Cargill study, about 50 percent of consumers are buying both real dairy and plant-based substitutes, per Dairy Reporter. Cargill, a Minnesota-based agriculture corporation, surveyed 840 people in 13 countries, and asked about purchases of ice cream, yogurt, flavored milk and dairy alternatives.
