New farmers’ market to open in busy section of downtown Birmingham


A new farmers' market is coming to a busy section of downtown.

A large shed will be constructed for a new farmers' market in front of the MAX Transit intermodal facility in Birmingham, according to AL.com.

Approximately 9,000 people a day travel through the facility.

The endeavor is scheduled to launch in July.

The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs and the city of Birmingham are contributing $50,000 each for the project. The city is looking to partner with Alabama and Jefferson…
