Old Germantown sausage and beer business would celebrate Wisconsin’s food heritage


A Germantown couple plans to turn their passion and family history into a sausage and beer business that is expected to open next fall.

Georgene and Scott Sommer, owners of Old Germantown, want to create an agri-tourism destination at their 120-acre farm on Pleasant View Drive by adding a kitchen, brewery and sausage production facilities. The business would operate year-round with varying days and hours depending on the season, according to records from the village of Germantown.
