Opening of downtown Fry’s grocery store pushed back to October


The opening of the Fry's grocery store in downtown Phoenix, a first for the area, has been pushed back a month.

The 67,000-square-foot urban store is now expected to open in late October, the company said in a news release this week. A specific opening date has yet to be announced.

When it opens, it will be part of the Block 23 development, a 230,000-square-foot residential-office-retail complex currently being built by Red Development near Washington and First streets, and within walking distance…
