Outstanding Volunteer Group: Lan Su Chinese Garden Volunteers


The Lan Su Chinese Garden has been a fixture in the Old Town neighborhood of Portland since its opening in September 2000. Nestled behind stone walls, visitors are immediately transcended into – as its mission states – “an oasis of tranquil beauty and harmony.” Lan Su was built in collaboration with Portland’s sister city Suzhou, in China’s Jiangsu province, and is known as one of the most authentic Chinese gardens outside of China.
