Passport slashes budget to stave off state takeover


Passport Health Plans said Friday that it will institute "severe cost-cutting" measures in an attempt to stave off a takeover by the Kentucky Department of Insurance.

In a news release, Louisville-based Passport CEO Mark Carter described the cuts to its fiscal 2019 budget, which ends Dec. 31, as "drastic and potentially devastating cost-cutting measures."
