PHOTOS: This $37M property once belonged to the richest man on the Titanic


A 45-acre Newport, Rhode Island, property that once belonged to John Jacob Astor is on the market for $37 million. Astor, an American millionaire and the richest person to sail aboard the RMS Titanic, died when the ship sank on its maiden voyage in the early hours of April 15, 1912.

The seven-bedroom, six-bath Seaward estate is located at 339 Ocean Ave. The home was completed in 2008 and is considered “the last notably expansive oceanfront property in Newport,” according to its listing.
