Prominent Tampa chef Greg Baker to retire, sell off Refinery property in Seminole Heights


The chef who was on the cutting edge of Tampa's culinary transformation will retire at age 51 and sell off his restaurant property in Seminole Heights.

Greg Baker, who stepped into the spotlight as an advocate for mental health awareness in the hospitality industry this year, said Wednesday that is he stepping away from The Refinery, which has been nominated for six James Beard Foundation Awards since it opened in 2010.
