PulteGroup executives see glimmers of returning homebuyer demand


Executives with Atlanta-based homebuilder PulteGroup Inc. see signs of homebuyer demand returning even as the housing market remains cool.

New orders for PulteGroup (NYSE: PHM) houses during the last three months of 2022 declined by 41% compared to the same period a year earlier, the company announced on Jan. 31. PulteGroup customers canceled 32% of purchase contracts for the company's houses during that three-month period, up from 11% one year prior.
