Reaching for the sky: 80-story tower plan unveiled in downtown Austin


Wilson Tower would stretch 1,035 feet into the sky, making it the tallest tower in all of Texas. Plans call for hundreds of apartments on the site of a current downtown condo community. "I don't think the need for housing is going anywhere," one developer said. "Looking into the future, when this building is planned to come online, we still see Austin with the incredibly strong fundamentals needed to support a project like this."
