Really this time: Threadgill’s restaurant south of downtown to close after Thanksgiving

Another well-known restaurant will shutter its doors because of the rising cost of doing business in Austin.

Threadgill's announced Wednesday it would close its location at 301 W. Riverside Dr. at the end of November. The Threadgill's location on North Lamar will remain in business.

"The boom-town property taxes are high as a skyscraper and we are a one story mom and pop shop," Threadgill's owner Eddie Wilson wrote on Facebook. "Unfortunately, it's time for us to move on."
