Regions Financial Corp. closes 33 branches, opens nine


Regions Financial Corp. has closed 33 branches across its footprint, including two in Texas.

The bank also closed five in Alabama, three branches in Georgia, eight in Missouri, three in Illinois, two in Louisiana, one in Arkansas, two in Mississippi, one in Tennessee and six in Florida.

Regions said all other branches that closed, effective Aug. 23, were also consolidated into nearby locations as the bank continues to invest in digital banking capabilities, ATM and branch enhancements and branch…
