REVIEW: Broadway’s Stephen Schwartz charms, entertains at the Cincinnati Pops


Stephen Schwartz’s music and lyrics have a common theme that’s evident when you hear a revue of his songs spanning five decades of his career.

From “Day by Day” – the flower child anthem of 1970s “Godspell” – to “Magic to Do” from “Wicked,” currently on Broadway, Schwartz’s tunes are upbeat and hopeful. They leave you with a song in your heart and the thought that, just maybe, “When you Believe,” there can be miracles.
