Samsung secures Manor ISD tax breaks for possible future chip fabs


Manor Independent School District trustees voted unanimously Dec. 12 to approve Chapter 313 incentives for Samsung. The company had previously said in incentives applications it may invest tens of billions of dollars to build two more semiconductor fabs. However, the company has not decided whether it will move forward with the project — it was asking for the tax breaks for "long-term planning purposes only."
