The county and attorney general are on opposite sides of the county’s intended purchase of two bankrupt private hospitals — O’Connor in San Jose and St. Louise in Morgan Hill — from Verity Health System of California. Both say they’ve taken their opposing positions for the same reason: To guarantee that the hospitals’ health care services continue.
