Facebook parent Meta plans to buy University of Minnesota land for $700M data center

The mystery player behind two big-dollar, secretive economic development projects — previously codenamed Amber Kestrel and Bigfoot — has been revealed: It's Meta Platforms Inc., the parent company of Facebook and Instagram.
