Senate committee passes bill that includes $3M for Big Island agriculture research facilities


The Senate Appropriations Committee passed a bill that includes $3 million to protect Hawaii coffee and maintain agriculture research facilities in Hilo, as well as $32 million to support agricultural inspection stations in airports.

The allocations are part of the Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food and Drug Administration Appropriations Bill, which was passed Thursday for fiscal year 2019.
