Shaq-backed Big Chicken plans to expand to Columbus


A restaurant chain co-founded by Shaquille O'Neal is expanding to Columbus.

Big Chicken this week announced a 36-unit development agreement in Ohio. The first unit is expected to open in Central Ohio, though the exact site was not announced.

The chain, which launched in 2018, was founded by Las Vegas-based JRS Hospitality, Authentic Brands Group and the basketball legend. The menu melds some of O’Neal’s childhood favorite dishes with modern flavor trends.
