Shareholders approve $750M deal between Ameris and Fidelity Southern


Shareholders at both Ameris Bancorp (Nasdaq: ABCB) and Georgia-based Fidelity Southern Corp. (Nasdaq: LION) have approved the banks merger, moving Ameris's $750 million acquisition closer to the finish line.

The transaction is expected to close this quarter. It is still subject to regulatory approvals.

The two signed a merger agreement in December that was unanimously approved by both companies' boards. Fidelity shareholders will receive 0.8 Ameris shares per share.
