She grew up with little. Now Hattie Mitchell oversees a Phoenix firm’s national tribal practice

Growing up on a reservation in Kansas, Hattie Mitchell had very little. She spent her childhood working on her family's land and often saw her mother work endlessly to develop a budget her family could afford. She watched her mother work as the tribal treasurer and was exposed to math and finance at a young age. Mitchell always enjoyed the intricacies of math and had aspirations of becoming a tribal leader like her mother. She made those dreams come true.
