Shoppers step up credit card protection efforts


A year after the Equifax data breach that affected 148 million Americans, at least 91 percent of consumers have taken some action to protect their credit cards, a new survey from CompareCards finds.

CompareCards.com commissioned Qualtrics to ask 1,037 Americans with a credit card or debit card if they had taken any of 10 steps to protect themselves from identity theft. The average respondent had done three. The most common actions taken, according to CompareCards:
