Soft start to the year for Triangle home sales


The New Year hasn’t brought with it any changes to recent trends in the home-buying market.

Data from January show that the number of home sales for the month were down 6 percent compared to the prior year, according to the Triangle Area Residential Realty report by appraiser Stacey Anfindsen.

The number of home resales — a statistic that only counts existing homes that traded hands — was down 8 percent.
