South Charlotte’s growth spurs new development at Rea Farms


Charlotte’s rapid population growth is fueling the development of town center hubs around the region, and Rea Farms — which is located south of I-485 and Providence Road — is a recent example of an established residential community propelling demand.

The population surrounding Rea Farms is growing 3.5 times faster than Mecklenburg County, increasing more than 70% between 2010 and 2019. The average household income in the area is $176,247, placing Rea Farms among the ten wealthiest zip codes…
