South Florida home sales surge in April


South Florida home sales surged in April, with activity especially heavy in the condo market, according to Florida Realtors.

The tri-county region had 4,285 sales of existing single-family homes, up 2.3 percent from the same month a year ago. The median price increased 7.7 percent to $350,000.

For the entire state, sales grew even faster with a 4.1 percent increase in single-family home sales as the median sales price increased 8.1 percent to $253,895. As for other major Florida metros, single-family…
