South Jersey’s most disconnected areas are also the most unhealthy


People living in the most rural and hard-to-reach areas of South Jersey are more likely to struggle with health problems, a new study out of Rutgers-Camden found after surveying thousands of residents in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Salem and Cumberland counties.

By combining the results of nearly 2,400 residents, emergency room data, interviews with stakeholders, focus group feedback and demographic information, Rutgers-Camden professor Sarah Allred painted a picture of what health looks like…
