Southern Tier health providers hit by cyber attacks


Two Southern Tier health care providers lost access to computer and electronic health records systems following cyber attacks this week.

According to Becker’s Hospital Review, both Olean Medical Group and the Seneca Nation Health System in Salamanca were impacted.

Olean Medical Group CEO Christine Strade told Becker’s the group lost access to its systems June 11 when it was infected with ransomware and has been completing patient charting on paper by hand.
