Study: Missouri’s opioid death rate slightly decreasing


Opioid-related deaths have decreased slightly in Missouri, even though the state still ranks near the middle of the pack when compared with the rest of the country.

That's according to a study from the Kaiser Family Foundation, which ranked Missouri No. 22 in the country with 16.5 overdose deaths per 100,000 individuals in 2017. The state had a 1 percent decrease from 2016. Illinois ranked 19th and had a rating of 17.2, a 14 percent increase.
