SVB Financial files for bankruptcy as it moves to sell non-bank units


SVB Financial Group filed for bankruptcy protection on Friday, one week after government regulators seized its bank.

The Santa Clara parent company of failed Silicon Valley Bank said in a press release that the filing doesn't include the funds of its investment bank called SVB Securities, its venture unit called SVB Capital nor its general partner entities.
