"I have to be honest. I cannot stand being around little kids anymore."
My eyes widened a bit as my good friend, after slurping down her margarita, admitted that she did not not like being around younger kids anymore.
She's a mom who has one in college and the other in middle school. I sat and stared. She quickly followed with, "I love your kids, though." (Mine are both still in elementary school, so while I was not offended, I did wonder if mine were lumped into that comment.)
