The U.S. Census Bureau reports that 1,300 new stepfamilies are born every day.

Fifty percent of the 60 million children under the age of 13 are now living with one biological parent and that parent’s current partner. Studies suggest that 60 percent to 70 percent of marriages involving children from a previous marriage fail, and studies regarding the success of the children are not very promising either.
