At first glance, billions of dollars in investment from companies like Amazon, Google and Microsoft seem like huge wins for a region that didn't have much of a Silicon Valley presence even a few years ago. But while the investment numbers are huge, the jobs are relatively small for facilities that will occupy millions of square feet on hundreds of acres.
