OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma considering bankruptcy filing, reports say


Opiod maker Purdue Pharma LP, which makes OxyContin, is considering filing for bankruptcy, according to reports.

The Wall Street Journal and Reuters both report that the privately held Connecticut drug company would file for bankruptcy to contain liability from hundreds of lawsuits filed around the country, alleging the company is partly responsible for the nation's deadly opioid crisis.
