This is what lured Johnson’s Real Ice Cream to the Chicago market


Johnson’s Real Ice Cream is setting up shop in Chicago.

The Columbus-based ice cream company has acquired Bobtail Ice Cream Co. in the Lakeview East neighborhood of the city for an undisclosed sum and will take over in 2019. The move isn’t about a single shop though, but rather a jumping off point for distribution into Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana.
