U.S. settles False Claims cases against Sarasota home health agency


Two federal cases against Nurse on Call, a home health agency with locations in Sarasota and Orlando, have been settled.

Allegations arose that the agency had a medical director approve care for patients without actually seeing the patients, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida. There were also alleged kickbacks given in the form of a sham medical director agreement and payments to referring physicians' spouses.
