Umpqua Bank, Kiva crowdfunding platform disperse $1M in microloans to women, BIPOC founders


Umpqua Bank said its partnership with crowdfunding nonprofit Kiva has reached its initial goal of deploying $1 million in 0% interest microloans to nearly 200 BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) and women entrepreneurs.

Portland, Oregon-based Umpqua, a subsidiary of Umpqua Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: UMPQ), established the Umpqua Bank Loan Fund with Kiva earlier this year as part of its Small Business Empowerment Program.
