Urgency Room clinics drop walk-in model amid health staff burnout


The Urgency Room, a chain of Twin Cities medical clinics, has offered care to patients on a largely walk-in basis since it was founded more than a decade ago. But that strategy is no longer sustainable, officials say.

The Pioneer Press reports that Urgency Room locations are now requiring appointments for nearly all cases. (Patients suffering from things such as stroke symptoms or broken bones, or those referred from other emergency care centers, can still walk in.)
