Several metro Birmingham suburbs have the lowest crime rates in the Yellowhammer State.
According to data submitted to the FBI, Helena, Vestavia Hills, Pelham, Alabaster and Moody rank among the 10 safest cities in Alabama. Hoover ranked No. 13. Birmingham was not ranked as it did not submit figures to the FBI, according to The Home Security Advisor.
